The Greatest Album Never Made
George Michael's lost sessions finally see the light in Trojan Souls.
More than thirty years after the cameras stopped rolling, the personal film at the heart of George Michael's most private creative chapter is now streaming worldwide at trojansouls.com.
Trojan Souls is the work of Andros Georgiou — George Michael's lifelong best friend and cousin, raised alongside him as a brother from birth, and godfather to Andros's sons. Shot by Andros himself in 1993, the film captures sessions that brought together an extraordinary circle of artists — among them George Michael, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Seal, Janet Jackson, Aretha Franklin, Elton John and Bryan Ferry — working on what many around them believed could become one of the great records of its era.
That album was never finished. George died on Christmas Day 2016, days before a planned reunion between the two men. Trojan Souls is the conversation that never got to happen — Andros's letter to George, carrying forty years of friendship, music and loss.
This is a story people don't fully know. There will be emotion, there will be honesty — but more than anything, people will come away understanding something they never expected.Andros Georgiou
The Boogie Box High “Jive Talkin’” project was the first of many collaborations spanning more than twenty-five years. It was where the Trojan Souls story began — what started as Boogie Box High became the greatest album never finished.
The release also marks a quiet footnote in music history. In 1997, Andros and George were pioneers of digital music: through their venture aegean.net, they sold what is widely regarded as the first MP3 ever sold online — three years before iTunes — using a recording from these very sessions.
Trojan Souls is the first release from TRIBE Media Group, Andros's multimedia company built around the ROCK legacy project, which also encompasses the forthcoming book Rock: The Luckiest Man in Pop (2027) and the documentary ROCK The Movie. Founding supporters who watch via the site's VIP tier receive first access to never-before-heard recordings, signed editions, and an invitation to the ROCK The Movie private screening.
The film is available to watch now at trojansouls.com.
